Coco Models Explains Why Peter Lindbergh Returned To Vogue
Peter Lindbergh, fashion photographer, has decided to make a move back to Vogue after Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington spoke to him. After the two had asked him back he said “It was like you are the black sheep in the family, and your older brother asks you to come home.” He left Vogue in 1992 and has not had his pictures published in the magazine. Since then he has been shooting for Harper's Bazaar. The 18 year hiatus was caused by Alexander Lieberman and Grace Mirabella at Vogue. Both of them did not like his photography style specifically stating about his pictures of models on the beach, “They told me we can’t handle the women you’re photographing."
Lindbergh has said that, “fashion photography is going in the wrong direction, with the overdone hair and make-up”. He believes that young is overdone and would like to bring the more natural, less retouched models back to the pages of Vogue. Bringing back a little life to fashion photography might not be such a bad idea.
